The gay scene

Houston is a welcoming place where it&#;s virtually impossible to stay a stranger for long. The bar scene is varied too, from clubs catering to cowboys, leather guys, bears, and Latinos, to upscale lounges in the style of Recent York or LA, plus retro-music and alternative/arts venues.

A car is a must for getting around Houston&#;s sprawl. But if driving, observe the posted speed limits. Police here are observant. Metro has a fleet of buses and a rail network of three lines, red, leafy and purple, with 44 stations for getting around the city.

With more than two dozen queer bars and clubs to chose from, you’ll never be bored in Houston – no matter what day of the week you are visiting. Primary Houston – and especially the Montrose neighbourhood – is a tolerant, open-minded haven in otherwise deep-red Texas, which developed a very active and apparent lgbtq+ community.

Here cowboys, gays, hipsters, artists, and force sector business types all live, work, and compete in harmony – creating the multicultural ambience that makes Houston just so irresistible.

However, politics can still be a touchy subject. While we found people in Gay Houston were welcoming and by-and-large accepting, but ‘the Christian question’ does pop up. Same-sex attracted acceptance and the identity around it in Houston and Texas is complicated, and we wouldn’t don’t want to over-simplify anything.

Gorgeous historic craftsman houses now house a cultured fuse of elite boutiques, beatnik cafes, art galleries, and specialty shops. Not to mention, some of Houston’s best dining is secret within here.
