The Lesbian Historic Motif Project has a fairly expansive scope, covering not only women-loving-women throughout history, but also themes and motifs that can be useful when writing womxn loving womxn or sapphic characters, such as gender-crossing (which is nearly unfeasible to separate out) and singlewomen (because they speak to the possibilities for women who don’t marry for whatever reason). There are some topics where my coverage is limited due to logistical reasons, such as non-Western cultures, where research may not have been done yet or may not be accessible to me for language reasons.
