Influential gay people
June is Pride Month, which commemorates the Stonewall riots of , when patrons of a gay exclude, The Stonewall Inn, in New York City fought back against a police raid. It was an inflection point in the gay liberation movement. To celebrate Pride Month, I wanted to share a bit about LGBTQ+ scientists of the past.
I often feel uncomfortable with these lists, especially when sexual orientation and/or gender persona is speculative. Many Homosexual people in history couldn't come out publicly (and the truth is that many today still can't), and it feels a little intrusive to guess based on a letter or some ambiguous anecdote. But I also know that the good that comes from the visibility of those historical figures is significant. It's important to learn about the contributions LGBTQ+ people have drawn-out been making. So I've included in this list people who were widespread about their identity and/or orientation as well as people who are idea to have been LGBTQ+.
This list is more on the historical side and includes mostly (though not entirely) people who are no longer workin

Rudolf TABLE OF CONTENTS : True story: I recently saw an elderly male with his mutt at my local shop. I adoration dogs, so obviously I went to tell him (the dog) he was the goodest boi. I ended up talking with this man for a little bit about random things, and to cut a long story compact, someone else was talking about a man wearing a skirt (or something to that effect). This elderly dude then said something like, ‘Oh, he must’ve been gay’ and ‘gay this sickness’. This conversation happened in German, and I’m not fluent in the language, but I’m % sure he was spewing some severe homophobia. Now I could write this off as a ‘well, he is aged and belongs to an entirely alternative generation’, but the fact remains that homophobia and comments like these never have been and never will be OK, ever. I ashamedly left the conversation right after that because there was a distraction, and honestly, as an LGBTQ+ ally, I know I should’ve said something. But to create a lame pardon, I don’t belief my German enough to have had a conversation ab The four openly homosexual and lesbian members of Congress, as well as Houston Mayor Annise Parker and New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, have been named to Out Magazines prestigious Power 50 list, the magazine announced yesterday. These elected officials joined media moguls, celebrities, CEOs and financial professionals on the annual list of the most influential gays and lesbians in America, as determined by Out. New entries on the list this year included Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund. The Victory Fund’s maxim is simple: by electing members of the LGBT community into governmental offices, the political dialogue will be altered and the interests of gay citizens will be given the consideration they earn. President and CEO of the political action committee since , the tenacious and enterprising activist is paving the way for our future equality, the magazine said.
